So I have been unemployed for a long fucking time now, so I stopped looking at Help Desk and Tech Support jobs, because I have not had so much as an interview in 8 months. Recently I have started looking into cooking again, but every owner I speak to wants me to speak Spanish! I have no trouble working for and with Latinos, but to tell me I am not qualified to cook in your restaurant for $9 an hour because I don't speak Spanish?!?!? I started looking at retail as well.

Target's website has only one job available at the closest store, and it pays $7 an hour. I applied last week at fucking Wal Mart, I am that desperate! I can be a greeter for min wage for up to 20 hours a week!

For some reason I am ineligible for extended unemployment insurance that started on the 1st.
That leaves crime. However, since businesses are failing at a colossal rate, that may not provide enough to live on either!

What the fuck does it say about a system that bends over backwards to make sure that fund managers and speculators get billions to offset their gambling debts and preserve their profits but there is no work, or help for the rest of us?

In the last eight years 11 million jobs have been eliminated from the American economy, manufacturing, customer service and IT jobs sent over seas to increase the bottom line of a billion dollar corporation, while entire towns collapse! And yet we bailed out bankers. The same bastard mother fuckers that destroyed the economy with their greed; We gave the keys to the robbers!

$700 Billion dollars in Bail out, $840 Billion in documented Iraq war spending, $25 Billion to the auto makers, who knows how much in back room deals. The deficit has exploded to more than 10 trillion dollars! America as we know it is done. Everyone is looking to Obama to fix it, but this rampant thievery by the "Free Market" assholes may be too much to ever overcome. Saudi Arabia and China by virtue of loans own more of America's capital than Americans!

Above all else there is a hopelessness that will not go away. The feeling that I may never get another job.
I researched welfare. The maximum available is $325 a month in cash assistance and $550 a month in food stamps. that is $3900 a year, so that Repubtard myth about welfare queens in a Cadillac is just like every other Republican line, BULLSHIT! The FDA says that a family of four can eat a healthy diet on $280 a week, current dollars, so once again the government gives you half, so that two of you can eat a healthy diet, or you can eat Mac & Cheese and Hot Dogs, then the government will deny you health coverage because your fat! The best part is, it is only available for 24 months. For your life. 24 months, so if you are poor, you better get unpoor within two years or you get cut off. That is the Welfare to Work Act of 2002. Enroll in school to better your prospects? Cut off. Get a part time job? Your sustenance benefits are reduced by an arbitrary amount. Take longer than ten days to report that job? Pay back that month's benefit in cash or go to jail......

So the Neocons gutted the safety nets, they destroyed the social programs and educational programs that helped the poor, they dismantled the regulations that kept banks from getting into the very bullshit that caused their collapse, they have raped the treasury to fight a war for profit and allowed employers to outsource jobs and reap bigger profits......Find a neocon and punch them hard in the face!
