Sen. Lieberman, putting the con in Connecticut, has magically voted against his Democratic constituency since he came to the Senate!

A consummate liar, and corporate whore, he votes for whatever lobby group pays him the most!
Lieberman, has already taken $5 million in legalized bribes from the insurance lobby! http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/industries.php?cycle=2010&cid=N00000616&type=I&mem=

Other things he has fucked up pretending to be a Democrat:

Back in 1993, Lieberman called Bill Clinton's health care reform "too governmental, too regulatory and too costly." Worked hard to earn his insurance lobbyist cash....

Lieberman condemned the 2005 bankruptcy bill as "seriously flawed" and touted his vote against it but he voted to end a Democratic filibuster, allowing the bill to pass, which was when it mattered.

n 2005, Lieberman was part of the "Gang of 14" that ended a Democratic filibuster of some of President Bush's judicial nominees and promised that filibusters would end in "all but extraordinary circumstances." Which brought you Roberts AND Alito, Two complete conservative yes men....

In 2005, Lieberman voted for Alberto Gonzales to become Attorney General and said when the disgraced official resigned that he "deserved our appreciation." Showing all of us his complete ignorance of reality!

During Bush's Social Security privatization push, Lieberman refused to make his position clear. In 2008 he defended John McCain's privatization plan.

Lieberman has repeatedly and yet falsely intimated that the U.S. might need to bomb Iran and claimed Iran was going to war with us.

In 2008, Lieberman backed the Republican candidate for president.

Lieberman, a Jew, came to the defense of John Hagee, the pastor who said “Hitler was a hunter” sent by God to get “the Jewish people”.

In 2008, Lieberman refused to condemn waterboarding as torture and voted against banning it.

For years, Lieberman has championed the Iraq war and savagely attacked its critics. Even after the lies and cherry picked intelligence came to light..

During the 2008 campaign, Lieberman said it was "a good question" to ask whether Sen. Barack Obama was a "Marxist." He also suggested that Obama was a Muslim, despite all evidence to the contrary.

On Election Day 2008, Lieberman told Glenn Beck he feared America as we know it would not survive if Democrats got a 60 seat majority in the Senate.

In October, 2009, Lieberman announced that he would support a filibuster of health care reform if it contained a public option after saying that he would support a vote.

He is also a complete hypocrite! He has done a complete turn around since the last time the people of Connecticut voted for him! He's a demonstrable lying sack of shit!

How about this whopper from July 6, 2006:

What I'm saying to the people of Connecticut, I can do more for you and your families to get something done to make health care affordable, to get universal health insurance.

Or this one from October 23, 2006:

I've been working on health insurance reform for more than a dozen years. ... I have offered a comprehensive program. Small business health insurance reform, plus something I call MediKids to cover all the children in America on a sliding fee basis up until the age of 25.

Lieberman also had Obama come to Connecticut and campaign on his behalf while he was loosing in 2006, he re-payed that by backing McCain, and furthering the Republican lies! Seems that Joe is only loyal to the lobbyist that pay him the most!

Joe is no more a Democrat than Limbaugh is. He is a lying fickle K street whore!

The sooner he is out of a job, the better!!!

David Frum published a piece on the violence the "reckless right" is fomenting. His point is that irresponsible and hysterical jingoists like Beck, Limbaugh and Hannity are using incindiary language and dangerous extremism to build the kind of ratings that attract advertisers-- low information weak minded people that sit in front of their TVs all day-- people with no lives who are open to suggestion, whether about buying a product or working themselves up into racist, murderous passions.

The hyperbolic Nazi comparisons from Rush Limbaugh; and Mark Levin stating that President Obama is “literally at war with the American people”; know nothing and former governor Sarah Palin, and the Senators Grassley, Coburn and Boner claiming that the president was planning “death panels” to euthanize the old and infirm; the endless shrieking that the president is a fascist, a socialist, a Marxist, an illegitimate Kenyan fraud, that he “harbors a deep resentment of America,” that he feels a “deep-seated hatred of white people,” that his government is preparing concentration camps, that it is operating snitch lines, that it is planning to wipe away American liberties”: All this hysterical and provocative, yet easily refutable, talk invites incites, and lays the groundwork for a corporate funded prefabricated justification for violence.

Some conservative commentators are gleefully anticipating just such an outcome.
Fox News’ Glenn Beck sympathetically affirming that white males are being driven into murderous rage by “political correctness.”
Or Beck insanely chuckling as he pretends to poison Nancy Pelosi.

Just yesterday, Sean Hannity openly contemplated violence-- and even stated that if it occurs, the president will have only himself to blame.

Ridiculous and ignorant allegations and fantasy murders may boost the flagging radio industry facing a collapse in advertising revenues-- down 30–40 percent over the past two years, reports NewMajority.com’s Tim Mak.

As revenues dry up, some hosts feel a need to intensify the hate talk, hoping to win a larger audience share . An audience that does not think for itself, and is easily manipulated, and misled.

Color of Change, has fought back against the hate speech on Beck and on Fox News. The ad revenues they were hoping to generate by ginning up racism and bigotry among paranoid seniors and angry low-information, anti-intellectual viewers is instead decreasing as more and more advertisers decline to have their products identified with Beck's divisive Goebbels-like ranting. Soon no one will be buying ad space on Beck's show but shady companies trying to hoodwink feebleminded elderly folks into buying gold.

Hey! Did you know that on page 425 of Barack Obama's health care bill, it mandates that everyone on Social Security MUST get counseling every five years to learn about ways to commit suicide? Or the government will do it for you?!?!?

And did you know that health care will be denied based on age? Based on Race?

And did you know that you won't be able to pay for your own health care even if you can afford it, because that "wouldn't be fair" to those who can't? So you will be forced to take the government plan or be fined?

Well, neither did I, but there may be a good reason for that: Beacause it's BULLSHIT!!!!

That, of course, isn't stopping the far right wing from circulating the above as gospel in its efforts to derail the passage of any meaningful health care reform! Reform that Democrats have been trying to pass since Harry Truman was president more than 50 years ago, but that Republicans have been successfully stonewalling every year since then.

Health insurance in this country, as we all know, is a for-profit business. You give your health insurance company money every week, and they're supposed to pay your medical bills when they come due. In order to make money, the health insurance companies need to take in more of your money than they put out to cover your bills.

So the health insurance companies focus on two things to increase profitability: First, they try to make you pay as much money as possible IN. Second, they try to pay as little as possible back OUT. They have high deductibles and low lifetime caps! As you can see, their first priority really isn't your good health.

Obama's health care reform is a direct threat to the profit margins and executive compensation of health insurance companies.

This would be major competition for the fairly monopolized industry.

So, in order to compete, health insurance companies would have to figure out ways to provide better health care at lower cost to the people who buy their health insurance policies. This would hurt their profit margin.

So, as you might imagine, health insurance companies and those who have a vested interest in their continued and immense profitability (such as lobbyists and anyone else, including politicians who receive contributions from said health insurance companies) are working very hard to derail meaningful health care reform. This would hurt their profit margin..

And in defense of their profitability, you know what? They lie.

Republican leaders-- especially John Boehner (OH-$1,206,472 + $904,156), Mike Pence (IN-$453,644 + $160,700), Paul Ryan (WI-$685,714 + $492,651), Miss McConnell (KY- $2,769,168 + $936,057), Roy Blunt (MO-$1,660,898 + $556,682) and Eric Cantor (VA-$1,410,724 + $706,674)-- have been all over the media hysterically lying and spreading disinformation about the health care bill and earning the legalized bribes they've taken from the Medical-Industrial Complex and the Big Insurance companies.

These whores are using the Hate Talk Radio network, ginning up the fear, so that people who listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Beck, Ingraham, Savage, etc are now paranoid that health care reform is tantamount to euthanasia!

Under the plan, Medicare would reimburse doctors for one session every five years to confer with a patient about his or her advance directives, or living will and how to ensure those preferences are followed. The counseling sessions would be voluntary.

But on the Hate Talk Express, religious e-mail lists and Internet blogs, the proposal has been described as "guiding you in how to die," "an ORDER from the Government to end your life," promoting "death care" and, in the words of anti-abortion terrorist leader Randall Terry, an attempt to "kill Granny."

Betsy McCaughey, who screwed us over the health-care overhaul 16 years ago, told Fred D. Thompson (R-Tenn.) that mandatory counseling sessions with Medicare beneficiaries would "tell them how to end their life sooner" and would teach the elderly how to "decline nutrition . . . and cut your life short."

She lied to kill Clinton's health bill, she is still lying today!

Yet my personal favorite...The think tank that all of the corporate whores are citing, their non partisan "Proof" the Lewin Group, is wholly owned by UnitedHealth Group, one of the nation's largest insurers.

The shysters for a Florida Fox affiliate, successfully argued that the First Amendment somehow gives broadcasters the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports on the public airwaves!

On February 14 2005, a Florida Appeals court ruled there is absolutely nothing illegal about lying, concealing or distorting information by a major press organization. Thereby proving that Florida is where they send the stupid bureaucrats!
The court reversed the $425,000 jury verdict in favor of journalist Jane Akre who charged she was pressured by Fox Television management and lawyers to air what she knew and documented to be false information. The ruling basically declares it is technically not against any law, rule, or regulation to deliberately lie or distort the news on a television broadcast.

On August 18, 2000, a six-person jury was unanimous in its conclusion that Akre was indeed fired for threatening to report the station's pressure to broadcast what jurors decided was "a false, distorted, or slanted" story about the widespread use of growth hormone in dairy cows.

The court did not dispute the heart of Akre's claim, that Fox pressured her to broadcast a bogus story to protect the broadcaster from having to defend the truth in court, as well as suffer the ire of irate advertisers. Fox argued from the First Amendment, and failed on three separate occasions, in front of three different judges, to have the case tossed out on the grounds there is no hard, fast, and written rule against deliberate distortion of the news.

Lies are now protected as free speech! Try that the next time you get a ticket, or are charged with perjury......

In its six-page written decision, the Court of Appeals held that the Federal Communications Commission decades old position against news distortion is only a "policy," not a promulgated law, rule, or regulation. Fox aired a report after the ruling saying it was "totally vindicated" by the verdict.

So there you have it, FAUX news, court sanctioned lies!

Cheney would have you believe, but they water boarded Abu Zubaydah and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed a total of 266 times! Cheney feels that they got enough nformation out of these guys to protect America from any other attacks, except the ones that they didn't......

We already have a way to assess how much intelligence we got directly from torturing Abu Zubaydah and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed: the 9/11 Report!

Marcy Wheeler of the EmptyWheel blog has been doing the legwork that the New York Times needed done for their story about torturing of these two men.

In the entire 9/11 Report, just ten pieces of information are sourced to Abu Zubaydah's interrogation reports. TEN! OMFG 10 plots thwarted!!!! Not quite.

Wheeler's got a timeline from March 2002 to February 2004, where she unpacks both the significant decisions that governed Zubaydah's detainment and itemizes the intel gleaned from interrogation. Wheeler's diligence and detail is superlative. There's just no substitute for the full Monty, so do make sure you take in all of her work. But in the narrow interest of summarization, here's what 83 trips to the waterboard got us:

1. "Abu Zubaydah describes his role running the Khaldan and Derunta training camps."

2. "Abu Zubaydah describes Rahim al-Nashiri's success as a recruiter."

3. "AZ describes Bin Laden's popularity."
Story continues below

4. "AZ gives tempered description of KSM's popularity."

5. "AZ insisted there were no ties between al Qaeda and Iraq."

6. "AZ claims Bin Laden expanded the scope of KSM's original plan."

7. "AZ provides description of the origins of "the Encyclopedia," a terrorist training manual created during the anti-Soviet campaign."

8. "AZ provides a description of Bin Laden's actions after the Cole bombing."

9. "AZ provides information on Abu Turab, who reportedly conducted the final training for the 9/11 plotters."

10. "AZ provides a comment on whether Saudis were selected for the 9/11 plot specifically."

There's just no substitute for the full Monty, so do make sure you take in all of her work

http://emptywheel.firedoglake.com/2009/04/22/abu-zubaydah-waterboarded-83-times-for-10-pieces-of-intelligence/

It seems that although torture produced information that there was no link between Al Queda and Iraq, that was not important, it got in the way of the message that there was, so it did not count.

72,000 American dead and wounded, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's and thousands of Afghans, dead and wounded, perpetual civil war/religious war in and for Iraq, and $5 trillion in US debt is what the Bush administration as a whole caused because of Chimpy McFlightsuit's desire to be a wartime President or a cowboy.... All on a series of lies and trumped up bullshit.

And now Darth Cheney is trying to polish that fact with the feeblest of lies, showing his utmost contempt for less Republican Americans. All I can say to the former VP using Cheney's own words to the press, "Fuck Off!"

In case he missed his job description, Article 1 of the US Constitution states:

The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.

Pretty cut and dried eh?

Until his office utters this far reaching statement:
"The vice president alone may determine what constitutes vice presidential records or personal records, how his records will be created, maintained, managed and disposed, and are all actions that are committed to his discretion by law," according to a court filing by Cheney's office with the U.S. District Court on Dec. 8.

Except that the 1978 Presidential Records Act requires all presidential and vice presidential records to be transferred to the National Archives immediately upon the end of the president's last term of office and gives the archivist responsibility to preserve and control access to presidential records.

Once again the big dick has decided that mere mortal laws do not apply to him.

McCain says they are friends. Have you heard one word about this yet?
Liddy served four and a half years in prison in connection with his conviction for his role in the Watergate break-in and the break-in at the office of the psychiatrist of Daniel Ellsberg, the military analyst who leaked the Pentagon Papers. Liddy has acknowledged preparing to kill someone during the Ellsberg break-in "if necessary"; plotting to murder journalist Jack Anderson; plotting with a "gangland figure" to murder Howard Hunt to stop him from cooperating with investigators; plotting to firebomb the Brookings Institution; and plotting to kidnap "leftist guerillas" at the 1972 Republican National Convention -- a plan he outlined to the Nixon administration using terminology borrowed from the Nazis. (The murder, firebombing, and kidnapping plots were never carried out; the break-ins were.) During the 1990s, Liddy reportedly instructed his radio audience on multiple occasions on how to shoot Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents and also reportedly said he had named his shooting targets after Bill and Hillary Clinton

Palin today in reference to the gossamer Ayers/Obama connection said: "Our opponent ... is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country,"

William Ayers William Ayers, a member of the Vietnam-era Weather Underground Obama was eight years old. This was discussed and discarded in June as a non story. No evidence shows they were "pals" or even close when they worked on community boards years ago and Ayers hosted a political event for Obama early in his career. Obama has repeatedly denounced Ayres and the weather underground's actions, but since Ayers was never convicted of anything.......

McCain has a list of felonious friends and supporters, people that he actively called friends like Charles Keating, you remember him right?

So Obama knows a radical activist that was never tried nor convicted, and he bought a piece of land adjacent to his property that was owned by a guy later convicted of racketeering.
Wow.....

Palin's husband is a separatist, Talk about un-American.
She thinks that the Constitution is flexible about the role of the VP! AN is looking forward to broadening that office's power even beyond that of Cheney!
Her church believes in witches and had a famed African witch hunter pray over her.

McCain got his start in politics from his second father in law, Jim Hensley, with known ties to organized crime. The S&L banking scheme in which he was one of five senators in bed with Charles Keating. Keating had made contributions of about $1.3 million to five U.S. Senators on the Commerce committee, and he called on those Senators to help him resist regulators. The regulators backed off, to later disastrous consequences. Kind of like the de-regulation he spouts today.
Although he was reprimanded for "Poor judgment" instead of being jailed like he should have been.

The NYT says that the McCain campain is going to get tough, so look for ads with Obama eating babies, and worshiping Satan, Rev. Wright making a comeback.
Tom Brokaw, who has since given up any journalistic integrity is so in the tank for McCain, it will be a surprise if he moderated the debate with any sort of fairness.

Today we get to see smug market fundamentalists and laissez-faire devotees, businessmen and women who hate "government" when it provides aid to families with dependent children, or food stamps, or health coverage for poor people -- businesspeople that denounce as "Socialism" any attempt by the government to redistribute some of the nation's wealth to the working middle class or to the poor, now come to Washington, hat in hand, begging the federal government to fix their self-created problems brought on by their own greed and recklessness and demanding massive infusions of tax-payer dollars in the form of bail out after bail out.

It's Socialism for the rich and Fuck You! capitalism for everybody else!

twenty eight years ago this debacle began, since the beginning of Ronald Reagan's first term, we have been subjected to an unending stream of Republican bullshit claiming that if we just got government out of the way, deregulate the economy, and let the market work its magic, prosperity would "trickle down" to the average American citizen.

In the mid-1980s, corporate lobbyists infested Washington, threw huge amounts of campaign cash around, and told us that deregulating the Savings and Loan industry would be a great idea. John McCain and his good friend Charles Keating from Arizona were big proponents of this scheme that turned out to be a disaster that cost taxpayers $500 billion in bail-out cash! 500 fucking BILLION!

Phil Gramm, of "We are a nation of whiners" and "It's only a mental recession" fame, when he was Senator from Texas (and John McCain's choice for president in 1996), worked up another "deregulation" bill that President Bill Clinton stupidly signed into law in 1999 that repealed the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933, thereby destroying a key firewall between commercial and investment banks. Thereby de-criminalizing predatory lending.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass-Steagall_Act

Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, and now American International Group Corporation all hired lobbyists and lavished campaign donations on politicians in order to push through with no public support or debate or even knowledge, the radical deregulation of the financial sector.

Then they proceeded to make up entire new types of financial products, derivatives and the like, that amounted to nothing more than a giant Ponzi scheme.
And when it all collapsed due to their unrestrained, robber baron style rapacious business practices, they turn to the government for a hand out trying to prevent another Great Depression!

The laissez-faire proponents have perpetrated the biggest lie ever told to the American people for going on 30 years now, and George W. Bush, as with everything else he has done to date, took this lie to its extreme.
He gave the financial industry everything it wanted, and he appointed their lackeys and puppets to run the regulatory agencies that were set up in the wake of the Great Depression to avert exactly this kind of financial disaster that is happening now!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laissez-faire

And yet there are people that feel that this is the proper way to be, fuck the poor, empower the rich.....I do not understand that ideology at all.

Bob Barr, Libertarian candidate for President, said Monday that a bail-out is a bad idea, let them crash and burn, while I whole heartedly agree with this concept, the reality is that these out of touch, Lexus driving, private jet owning, multiple home living billionaires have the Nation by the balls. They are simply to big to let fail because that would literally destroy the Economy as a whole.

Ronald Reagan is often looked upon as the Republican's great hero, but Reagan sold the nation a crock of shit!
We can finally see clearly the disaterous results of this three-decade experiment in laissez faire capitalism.
It has destroyed the middle class in this country, greatly widened the gap between the super rich and everybody else, destabilized vital sectors of our society, and limited opportunities for the majority of Americans!

I would however love to see a young energetic President, after shoring up the economy and maybe minimizing the damage done, strip the ill gotten gains from these bastards and use those billions to strengthen the Education, Arts, and Health Care programs the Repubs have destroyed in the last 8 years!

Palin delivered a good speech. It was everything the Repubs wanted. She showed herself as a competent executive and up and comer in the Republican party. That being said, I thought she was a snarky bitch!

When she compared being a mayor of a small town to being a community organizer, ok, but to paint herself as a more seasoned politician....fucking joke. Her whithering attack on Obama's work as a community organizer, senator, and author. She misrepresented his record and simply lied about her own, claiming to oppose earmarks that she supported, and dissembling on her $1.5 billion tax hike and record of raising sales taxes by 25 percent in Wasilla. Typical Rovian Bullshit!

She also claimed that McCain has been the only candidate to have fought for "You".

Except McCain has never fought FOR America. He fought a proxy war for South Viet Nam, in which we lost, spending most of it, well, not fighting. Not the same at all.

That there are people that still believe in the Republican party after the last eight years of failure. Sure there has not been another attack on US soil since 9/11, but before 9/11 there was not one since 1993, is anyone giving Bill Clinton accolades for that?

The real non-patriots are the ones that put party affiliation before the best interests of the United States. The Bush administration has repeatedly shown that it puts corporate interests first. Karl Rove, in his efforts to make a one party nation has put the Republican party's interests before America's.

Palin's speech streched the truth a bit, but then again McCains entire campaign has pushed the boundries of credibility!

WASHINGTON AP WIRE— The House approved a homeless veterans housing bill overwhelmingly Wednesday

The bill sponsored by Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, authorizes spending $200 million on housing and services for veterans, requires 20,000 rental vouchers a year for low-income housing for veterans and authorizes $1 million for grants to nonprofit groups to provide housing and services for veterans.

The bill, which passed 412-9, also creates a job in the Department of Housing and Urban Development for someone to coordinate with Veterans Affairs on homelessness and make regular reports to Congress on the issue.

The Senate version of the bill is sponsored by Sen. Barack Obama D. Il.

Bush's advisers said in a statement they oppose a wage provision in the bill that requires builders of veterans housing to pay employees prevailing wage. (Prevailing Wage is defined as the hourly wage, usual benefits and overtime, paid in the largest city in each county, to the majority of workers, laborers, and mechanics. Prevailing wages are established, by the Department of Labor and Industries, for each trade and occupation employed in the performance of public work. They are established separately for each county, and are reflective of local wage conditions.)

The advisers said that provision is the bill's major problem. Bush has long opposed any changes to the law that would either increase or decrease the number of employers subject to the prevailing wage requirements in the Davis-Bacon Act, the advisers said.

"For this reason, if the bill were presented to the president in its current form, his senior advisers would recommend he veto the bill," the White House said, adding that the bill also duplicates existing programs.

But Green said several bills have been passed by Congress with similar wage provisions. Among them is the farm bill which was vetoed by Bush, but Congress overrode the veto. Green asked whether Bush wants to "draw the line in the dirt when it comes to veterans."

Veterans Affairs this year reported the number of homeless veterans has dropped to about 154,000. But Green said more are living in poverty than should. About 57 percent of homeless veterans are African-American or Latino, he said.

The bill, he said, is "our opportunity to do something for those who have made it possible for us to live in the richest country in the world."
Rep. Al Green's bill is H.R. 3329.

These men preferred not to help American Veterans. 4 Democrats and 9 more Republicans abstained.
412 Representatives think this is a good idea, this is bi-partisanship at it's finest, a bill aimed at a result not a political affiliation. Of course the Bushies, after getting their illegal additions to FISA passed, along with immunity (I wonder how much blackmail information was gleaned from spying on Democratic Congresspeople? Come on grow up, Cheney has had his office declared an officially separate branch of Government, Gonzales can't remember what he said at all, Rove refuses to answer a Congressional subpoena, Rice speaks out against rape as a weapon in Africa, while prompting soldiers to use sexual humiliation.......This administration has lied cheated and bullied it's way into unprecedented power. Do you think for one second that these men did not spy on their political rivals?!?!) Only one sentence of that was speculation BTW.

So Bush will constantly veto any bill that intends to help non wealthy Americans of any persuasion, while he will go to bat for and make policy favorable the wealthiest of corporations. We as Americans should be ashamed that we allowed ourselves to be manipulated by Rove and Rumsfeld's bullshit terror alerts, and twice elected a mush-mouthed simpleton to the highest office! For weeks the news networks have had Rev. Wright's "God Damn America..." sound byte on an endless loop. The MSM even made Obama disavow his own pastor over an out of context video clip.

There has been almost no mention in MSM about Rev. Hagee's ignorant remarks that New Orleans got what it deserved from Hurricane Katrina for "its level of sins". John McCain actively sought the endorsement of Rev. Hagee. Can you say pandering to the Religious Reich?

Brave New Films recently made available the video of Rod Parsley, another pastor admired by John McCain whose hidebound and incendiary comments insult Islam as a whole.
You gotta wonder what makes John McCain's association with Rev. Parsley, and calling him, among other things, one of the "truly great leaders in America," "moral compass" and "spiritual guide" not worth reporting? Could it be because they're white?

Pastor Parsley called Islam "an anti-Christ religion that intends, through violence, to conquer the world," declared that "America was founded, in part, with the intention of seeing this false religion [Islam] destroyed" and expressed the view that "I believe our nation can't truly fulfill its divine purpose until we understand our historic conflict with Islam." Obviously he failed his civics and government courses in high school. Of course he was top marks in Crazy Fucktard!

In light of these comments, it is both astonishing and calamitous to see the media apply such a double standard to the controversial comments of two different pastors. The media should not take any position to decide which insults against what assemblage is justified and against what assemblage is controversial!

I have written here before about some of the asinine things that come out of holy rollers mouths, I know I preach to the choir, but this is obvious for any to see, that these people and the flocks that they mis-lead, are as dangerous to America as any extremist Islamic Iman's; and for the exact same reasons.

C. and I have been bantering the term "Jobless Recovery" for a while, some of my more right leaning friends explain that I am wrong that more than a million jobs have been created, then I reply to replace the more than 11 million lost? They usually just shake their heads at me and get back into the unemployment line.
An excellent article explaining this concept:

According to the Pentagon, the reduction of violence in Iraq is a direct result of "The Surge's" success, also according to the Pentagon the recent flare up of violence is a direct result of "The Surge's" success.

This is typical BushCo doublespeak. For a long time we have listened to the endless BS pour out of this administration about success, without ever defining what that is. I thought it was because they did not have a clue what they were doing and were hoping that enough scandal, or Britney Spears news would distract us enough that we would not notice.

Now I feel that it is because they do not want to be held down by metrics or stated guidelines, that they REFUSE to define success in Iraq. This is also convenient because they can applaude themselves for a job well done no matter what actually happens! Without defining progress, they can make it up as they go. It can be reduced deaths one day, and if the next day sees dozens of deaths, progress can mean that. If a nuclear weapon glassed Baghdad, you can bet your bottom dollar that the administration would say THAT is a sign of progress.

As VoteVets.org laid out in the "State of the Wars, Military and Veterans" report, true progress in Iraq cannot be made until the Mahdi Army and Muqtada al-Sadr are convinced to give up their arms and become a willing and active partner for peace.

The surge was supposed to give some time and space to the Iraqi government to confront these tough internal political issues. Yet, as we've seen, it has done anything but that.

I would say that's proof that the surge has failed.

Dick Cheney honored the sacrifice of 4000 of our soldiers and their families by saying "The biggest burden of the war is carried by President Bush", and reminded the interviewer that "they volunteered for duty."

WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court gave business two big wins Wednesday by shielding companies from lawsuits and state regulations.

In one ruling, the court said makers of medical devices, such as heart valves and pacemakers, cannot be sued by injured patients if the Food and Drug Administration had approved the devices for sale.

In the medical devices case, the court threw out a lawsuit against Medtronic Inc. over a balloon catheter that burst in the chest of a New York man. He underwent emergency surgery and died some time later. His wife sued Medtronic, saying the catheter was defective.

But in an 8-1 decision in Riegel vs. Medtronic, the court rejected her suit, saying juries may not second-guess the FDA on whether such devices were safe.
.

So the FDA, the people that approved Vioxx, You know the drug that relieved your arthritis pain by killing you, Then there was Bextra, and pretty much ALL COX 2 inhibitors, is free to further the agenda of pharmaceutical companies! Finishing what was started in 2006, trying to insulate drug companies from all accountability.
.

Eliminating the rights of individuals to hold negligent drug companies accountable puts patients at more risk than they already are in from drug company executives that put profits before safety. The fact that the drug industry can get the FDA to rewrite the rules so that CEOs can escape accountability for putting dangerous and not fully tested  drugs on the market is the scariest example yet of how much control these big corporations have over our political process; it also shows who's best interests this administration holds dear.

How long will people fucking vote for these Jingoistic assholes? Why will Americans that live paycheck to paycheck vote Republican?
They do not have your best interests at heart, they only have the interests of the lobbyist that gave them the most graft!
I have never met a Republican that was not despicable, ignorant or just plain callous.

Today BushCo. is proposing a spending bill that will cut Medicaid and Medicare even more, eliminate MORE after school programs, cut domestic spending across the board and add another 3 trillion dollars to the bill our children will have to pay back! But who cares about the poor? They don't have lobbyist to suck the collective congressional dick.

That is TRILLIONS of dollars loaned to us by Saudi Arabia and China......What are they going to want in return when the ressecion this country has been in for seven years turns into another depression?

There are more poor and struggling people today BECAUSE of the machinations of the wealthy and powerful! Yet do to targeted defunding and budget cuts and tax deals for large corporations, there is less and less of a safety net, and most Repubs feel it is OK if a large portion of Americans lose everything and have to spend the rest of their miserable lives going through trash cans to eat, as long as it is not their trash cans.

I know I know Repub Fucktards  known as pundits tell you how there has been positive economic growth and job creation for the last 3 years....They say that because they are paid to, not because it is true!  658 Million Dollars of national economy moved from everyone in America, to the richest Americans. Corporate Profits are high, the wealth flows in one direction, it does not trickle down like Reagan said when he bald faced lied to to the American public to sell his corporate sponsored bullshit

When Corporations eliminate middle to high income jobs, reduce benefits and create only part time minimum wage jobs, you can bullshit the numbers, have pundits tell you there is job growth and every one is happy!!!! Do you know anyone that keeps 6 months of their salary in the bank? Do you know anyone that is able?

So when my children go to college (If that is even possible by then, those programs are being defunded as tuition rises exponentially) The will get degrees to what end, both Saudi Arabia and China are not big on women's rights, and they will own us outright by then. Republicans, stop thinking that one day you will be in the mansion sitting elbow to elbow with the rich and powerful, that is an empty pipe dream, and the more you vote for that corporate owned entity, the less likely you will ever see it, unless you have it already.

Today's Must Read

"It smells like the coverup of the coverup."

That's Rep. Jane Harman's (D-CA) take. And Rep. Pete Hoekstra's (R-MI) wasn't any different.

In case you were already out the door late Friday afternoon when the news broke, the Justice Department, along with the CIA's inspector general, informed the House intelligence committee that they'd told the CIA not to cooperate with the committee's investigation into the CIA's torture tapes. Congress would just have to wait until the joint Justice Department-CIA probe was done (when? who knows) before they got any answers. The reason given was that it would "jeopardize" the Justice Department's investigation if the CIA gave the committee all the information it wanted while at the same time cooperating with the DoJ inquiry.

Chairman Silvestre Reyes (D-TX) and Hoekstra pronounced themselves "stunned." There's "no basis" for the DoJ to do that, they said. Harman, the former ranking member on the committee, said the same yesterday.

The ground is being laid for an ol' fashioned separation-of-powers showdown. Hoekstra went further, saying "I think we will issue subpoenas." With Republican backup, it should prove pretty easy for Reyes to pull the trigger. Hoekstra even singled out CIA Director Mike Hayden, promising to hold him "accountable."

And remember, Hoekstra and Reyes weren't the only lawmakers Michael Mukasey's Justice Department upset on Friday. Mukasey sent a friendly none-of-your-business letter in response to the Senate Judiciary Committee's questions about the CIA tapes. Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT) was "disappointed" and promised to make that clear when Mukasey appeared before his committee in the new year.

At this point, it's worth observing that Michael Mukasey has been on the job as attorney general barely a month and has already united both parties in Congress against him. That's some quick work.

But wait! The Department also argued Friday that a federal judge should not hold a hearing on the tapes, saying that a hearing would be "both unnecessary and potentially disruptive.” Lawyers representing 12 detainees at Guantanamo had asked for one. Is a three branches free-for-all in the works?

This week, congressional Democrats proudly hoisted the white flag of surrender when it came to tax fairness, officially shelving a modest proposal to force billionaire hedge fund managers to pay the same tax rates as the janitors who clean their offices. As the Washington Post reported, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D) "told private-equity firms in recent weeks that a tax-hike proposal they have spent millions of dollars to defeat will not get through the Senate."
